Begonia Soli-Mutata is a compact shrub-like species from Brazil. The medium sized oval leaves are chocolate brown with wide green areas along the main veins. The leaf surface is bumpy and the colours in the leaf vary remarkably with the amount of light they receive. This species likes a little extra humidity.

The name solimutata, or sun-changing, refers to the plants ability to change colours in different lighting situations. In more sun, the leaves change to a yellow-green base with rust-coloured veining.
