***A NOTE FROM BERGS ON THE GREEN AND YELLOW GLAZED POTS***

Rooted in tradition and guided by nature, Bergs Potter is constantly evolving. Over the past years, we have embarked on a journey to refine the craftsmanship and colour of our glazed pots. As part of this process, we revisited two of our most iconic hues: Emerald Green and Amber Yellow.

Both colours have been thoughtfully reimagined, restoring the depth, warmth, and richness they were originally known for. Our partnership with skilled artisans in Portugal has allowed us to bring these beloved glazes closer to their original expressions while subtly enhancing their vibrancy and clarity.

At the same time, we have fine-tuned the proportions of our glazed pots to align more closely with their terracotta counterparts, creating a harmonious, streamlined look across sizes. Subtle differences from earlier editions may be noticed, but we consider this part of a natural and welcome evolution.

The updated Emerald Green and Amber Yellow glazes are already available on selected models and will be gradually introduced across the entire collection throughout 2025.

Bergs calls this the Castle Pot since it is inspired by a pot made at the royal castle of Fredensborg in 1860. Over time, production moved to smaller potters in Copenhagen, where it was made until plastic pots began to grow in popularity in the 1960s. Bergs Potter found their inspiration in a beautiful pot found years ago in a former nursery. Today, their potters make the pot in a small village near Lucca in Tuscany.

Each pot includes a drainage hole and matching saucer, which is water-proof. High-fired terracotta is durable and permeable, developing a unique patina over time. These pots are intended for indoor use. This is a handmade product, variation between pots and what is pictured here is normal.
