Succulent plants are drought-resistant plants in which the leaves, stem, or roots have become more than usually fleshy by the development of water-storing tissue. As such, they must be watered sparingly and allowed to dry out completely in between waterings. Typically desert plants, succulents require bright indirect sunlight throughout the day.

Succulents are susceptible to fungal infections, which usually appear as black spots on the leaves. These result from too much humidity or water on the leaves, but should not spread too quickly. Simply reduce the amount of water or humidity the plant is receiving and remove the affected leaves.
