Ponytail Palm

$38.00

Order for pickup only at 185 Queen Street East, Toronto.

The Ponytail Palm is not actually a palm; this native of southeastern Mexico is actually a member of the lily family and, also goes by the names Bottle Palm and Elephant’s Foot because of its bulbous base.

Plants and pots sold separately.

Medium to bright indirect light.

Water sparingly, let soil dry out between watering.

Yes - This plant is non-toxic!

Because water is stored in the trunk for longer time periods, this plant doesn’t need to be watered frequently. Your Ponytail palm will need its soil to dry well between watering, and if you have any doubt as to whether or not to water the plant, skip it until the next week.  If your Ponytail palm develops dry, brown foliage, a shrivelled stem or desiccated roots, you can be sure that these are signs of under watering. Excessive watering can drown the roots and cause root decay.
