We are always looking for new ways to learn about plants. While we love finding new ways to learn about plant care, podcasts are a way to connect in a different way about a wide range of plant life topics. Having listened to an extraordinary amount of podcasts on the topic, we have put together our top 3 personal favourites. In addition to providing practical tips on houseplant care, these podcasts also explore our relationships with plants and nature.

On The Ledge
On The Ledge is our go to podcast for relaxing plant content. Hosted by lifelong plant nerd and journalist Jane Perrone along with podcast mascot Wolfie. On The Ledge podcast is all about indoor gardening. Jane has a wonderful, cheery curiosity that is very infectious and endearing as she takes us along on her journey to find answers, interviewing experts from different fields. This podcast is a fun and reliable source for plant enthusiasts and beginners alike. It covers everything from fungus gnats and pet safe plants to begonia growth habits. Any topic you may have a question about, chances are it’s covered in one of Jane's 170 episodes (not including bonus episodes). With each episode being around 30-40 minutes long, its the perfect podcast to listen to when going for a stroll or doing laundry.

In Defense of Plants started as a blog by Botanist Matt Candeias before evolving into the amazing podcast it is today. In Defense of Plants focuses on all things botany and takes a more serious view on plants as the foundation for life as we know it. This podcast is great for those who are interested in plant science and want to delve deeper into topics such as evolutionary history, ecology, ethnobotany and conservation. There are over 300 episodes to choose from, ranging between 45mins to 1 hour long.
