As a result of it's limited rural habitat, Alocasia Scalprum has until now mostly been seen in private collections. It's distinct features are embossed elongated foliage with leaf blades shaped like the point of a spear. Newly emerging leaves are a lush green and maturing to a silvery blue green. A mature plant's leaf measures 6 to 10 inches long and 2 inches wide.

Medium to bright indirect light. 

Water weekly, only when top inch of soil is dry.

Your Alocasia Scalprum should be kept warm during the winter months to avoid dormancy. This can be achieved by giving it adequate light and keeping it warm. If the plant does go dormant due to low temperatures or drafts, keep it in a warmer spot in your home and reduce the watering frequency. Being careful only to water when the top inch of soil to completely dry out.

This plant favors high humidity. It's ideal temperature is 15 - 25ºC and does not tolerate temperature below 13ºC or drafts of hot and cold air.
