Selaginella Uncinata AKA. Peacock spikemoss or Rainbow fern. It's name is derived from its iridescent blue foliage. Which is one of the reasons why this plant is so sought after. They are native to China, but can be found from Japan, Australia to Mexico. The key to a healthy Selaginella is to keep it well watered, providing it with warmth, humidity, and moisture. It's difficult to overwater this plant as it enjoys frequent watering accompanied by high humidity. When growing it as a houseplant, one of the best places to locate it is near a shower or tub in a bright bathroom where it will receive extra humidity and warmth along with some light. Kitchens are also good alternatives. As long as the plant is being watered frequently and being kept out of direct sun.
