Portulacaria Afra or ’Elephant Bush’, is native to South Africa. They serve as food for elephants and other wildlife in their native habitat and can grow up to 20 feet tall. They have reddish-brown stems with glossy green leaves.
The stem gets thicker over time as the plant matures. These plants are very easy to grow and propagate. This plant has emerald green leaves with a little bit of reddish edges depending on sun exposure. The stems are light green when they are new, turns reddish-brown and eventual brown.
